PROTEST: No Missiles in Our Community
PROTEST: Called by Stop the Olympic Missiles – http://www.stoptheolympicmissiles.org
Saturday 30th June
Assemble 1pm
Wennington Green, Mile End Park, London E3 5SN
Facebook Event: PROTEST: No Missiles in Our Community
As part of the Olympic Games this summer, the Ministry of
Defence is planning to place surface-to-air missiles on rooftops
in residential areas around London, including in East London.
There has been no consultation with local people about the
missiles, nor has any risk assessment been conducted. The
presence of missiles in the local area will create a real danger
and does not serve reasonable security purpose.
We demand that the Ministry of Defence scraps the plan immediately.

Petition Action
The next event is this Tuesday, 15th May 6pm when we are going to petition outside the Bow Quarter where they want to deploy the missiles.
Bow Quarter is near the Bus Garage. 160 Fairfield Rd, E3 2UB.
Sign Petition
We have been in the local community collecting signatures by hand; people have actually been queuing to sign the petition in areas which are in close proximity to where the missiles are to be deployed.
We have so much support so far, but we need more! This is a highly dangerous situation for all residents of East London.
The internet is a powerful tool – so we have also created an online version of the petition, so you are able to sign the petition now if you haven’t already shown your support.
We need your signature today – the MoD have suggested that it only a minority of people that are against the missiles, and we do not believe that this is valid. To prove this, we need every signature of the people that oppose the plans so that we can put show the true reality to the MoD – the people of East London DO NOT WANT MISSILES and SHOULD NOT HAVE MISSILES on their homes.
